Kondi Band @ Afro Tech Festival
The musician and DJ Lamin Fofana has curated a fascinating and very danceable concert and party night for the Afro-Tech Fest. The end of the festival is all about contemporary pop culture from different countries of Africa in all their diversity and desire for innovation. There are currently many musical scenes and styles that go artistically their own way beyond the western music industry, develop new forms of international cooperation through the Internet and find new ways to spread their music. Some of the participating artists and musicians combine the highly heterogeneous cultural heritage of Africa with modern electronic production facilities and aesthetics. Others create futuristic-like songs and tracks, created by another, more diverse and from a non-Western perspective. Here the idea of Afrofuturism, which originated in the African Diaspora, returns to its origin and connects itself with much older narrative traditions and future presentations. We will give a lecture on Jace Clayton (US), concerts by the Kondiband (Sierra Leone) and Luka Productions (Mali) as well as DJ sets from Nídia (Angola), Nkisi (Congo), Lamin Fofana (Sierra Leone) and DJ / rupture (US) - all night long!
